Ulla Wolcz was born in Braşov. Like Niky Wolcz, she studied acting in Bucharest. In 1974 the two got married, and Ulla Wolcz acted for one season at the German State Theatre, until she emigrated to Germany. There, she acted on stages from Frankfurt, Essen, Berlin, Stuttgart, Bochum, Bern and at important theatre festivals. Until 1996, she taught acting at the Frankfurt University of Music. During the same year, Niky and Ulla Wolcz moved to New York, and became lecturers at the Columbia University. Ulla Wolcz starred in "Nunta de piatră" in 1971, a film that was presented this year at TIFF.
