The mixed media artist, director and choreographer Kristóf Szabó studied theatre, film and television studies, psychology and education. From 1996 to 2008 he worked mainly in the field of visual arts and participated in group exhibitions in Bonn, Budapest, Munich and Liège. Since 2007 he has been working as a director and choreographer. He is the founder of the Cologne-based ensemble F.A.C.E Mixed Media, which works in an interdisciplinary way, whereby Szabó makes use of various mixtures of techniques and media. Literary texts, body expression, dance, video projections and music are used. Since 2012, Szabó has been the artistic director of the international festival for contemporary dance SoloDuo NRW + Friends. Szabó's works in recent years include the productions: Borders.Birds (2019), Euripides MEDEA (2019), Hairy (2020) and Midas / Heimat (2022).
